the living room
this is my gallery of vintage art and embroidery, mostly from the 1960-1980s. i feel like it really captures the vintage cottagecore vibe i was looking for.
the top left image is framed decoupaged art featuring holly hobbie taking a photo of a boy, while a cat walks underneath her feet. the top right image is an oval wooden plaque featuring a mouse jumping out of the grass and hanging onto daisy flowers. it reads "the time to be happy is now." the bottom left image is a circle embroidery cushion featuring flowers in a wheelbarrow with a watering can. the flowers and water are beaded details.
i assume most of these are from the embroidery and decoupage kits that became popular home decor in the 1970s, but some may be original art. either way, the majority of these seem to be handmade in some way. so i try to give them a good home. (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶) ‹𝟹
my home inspiration
when i was growing up, my mother's heart quilt art print by robert allen from the 1980s (?) always gave me such a warm feeling. it reads "love is homemade" and "home is a hug away." that is the same feeling i want to create in our home, especially if we ever have kids. <3

this is a handmade vase by a hobbyist featuring a green and yellow gradient with a yellow swallowtail butterfly, an orange monarch butterfly, and light pink flowers. the bottom base is engraved with the maker's initials and dated '82.
